VISA Information Overview

International students must obtain a valid visa to study in Indonesia. The visa type will depend on the purpose and duration of their stay. The following is an overview of visa options for students at UPNVY.

A. VISA E30B - FOR UNDERGRADUATE AND POSTGRADUATE STUDY

The E30B Visa is intended for international students who plan to pursue undergraduate or postgraduate studies in Indonesia. Upon arrival at an Indonesian immigration checkpoint, visa holders will automatically obtain a Limited Stay Permit (KITAS) and a Re-Entry Permit, allowing them to stay in Indonesia during their study period.

Key Information:

  1. Available for undergraduate and postgraduate students.
  2. Valid for a 1-year or 2-year stay permit upon arrival.
  3. The stay permit may be extended up to a maximum of 6 years.
  4. Visa Fee:
    1. IDR 6,000,000 – for a 1-year stay permit.
    2. IDR 8,500,000 – for a 2-year stay permit.
  5. Multiple entry is permitted.
  6. Visa holders may undertake educational activities in Indonesia.

Restrictions: 

  1. Not permitted to work or engage in employment.
  2. Not allowed to sell goods or services.
  3. Not allowed to receive wages or compensation from individuals or companies in Indonesia.

Requirements:

Applicants must prepare the following documents:

  1. A valid passport with a minimum validity of:
    1. 18 months for a visa with a 1-year stay permit.
    2. 30 months for a visa with a 2-year stay permit.
  2. Proof of financial capability showing at least USD 2,000 or equivalent funds.
  3. A recent color photograph.
  4. Curriculum Vitae (CV) (optional).
  5. Travel itinerary (optional).
  6. A guarantee letter issued by a guarantor, either an Indonesian citizen or the educational institution where the student will study.
  7. An official letter of acceptance from the educational institution in Indonesia stating the duration of the study program.

B. VISA C9 - FOR SHORT COURSE

The C9 Visa is intended for international visitors who plan to participate in short academic activities in Indonesia, such as short courses, short training programs, study visits, or Indonesian language programs (BIPA). It allows participants to stay in Indonesia for a limited period for educational purposes.

Key Information:

  1. Valid for an initial stay of up to 60 days.
  2. The visa can be extended up to two times, with each extension valid for 60 days.
  3. Visa Fee: IDR 2,000,000 (for a stay of up to 60 days).
  4. Single-entry visa.
  5. Intended for participation in:
    1. Short courses.
    2. Short training programs.
    3. Academic study visits.
    4. Indonesian Language Programs (BIPA). 

Requirements:

Applicants must prepare the following documents:

  1. A passport valid for at least 6 months.
  2. A personal bank statement for the last 3 months showing a minimum balance of USD 2,000 or equivalent (including the applicant’s name, statement period, and account balance).
  3. A recent color photograph.
  4. Proof of guarantee from the guarantor (the receiving university).
  5. A letter of acceptance or invitation from the receiving university confirming participation in a benchmarking activity, short course, or short training program.

C. VISA C22 - FOR INTERNSHIP

The C22 Visa is intended for international applicants who wish to participate in an academic internship in Indonesia as part of an educational or professional development program at a host institution.

Key Information:

  1. Valid for up to 60 days or 180 days.
  2. May be extended by submitting a new application, with each extension valid for up to 60 days or 180 days.
  3. Single-entry visa.
  4. Visa fee:
    1. IDR 3,000,000 (for a stay of up to 60 days).
    2. IDR 4,000,000 (for a stay of up to 180 days).

Requirements:

  1. A passport valid for at least 6 months (see terms and conditions).
  2. Personal bank statement from the last 3 months with a minimum balance of USD 2,000 or equivalent (must include the applicant’s name, statement period, and account balance).
  3. Recent color photograph (see terms and conditions).
  4. Proof of guarantee from the guarantor (receiving university).
  5. Letter of acceptance, internship agreement, or official statement from the host institution of the internship program.

D. VISA C10 - FOR INVITED EVENT PARTICIPANT

The C10 Visa is intended for international individuals who will participate in activities such as giving lectures, presentations, or speaking at events in Indonesia, without engaging in employment.

Key Information:

  1. Valid for up to 60 days.
  2. Extendable in accordance with applicable regulations.
  3. Single-entry visa.
  4. Visa fee: IDR 2,000,000 (for a stay of up to 60 days).

Requirements:

  1. A passport valid for at least 6 months (see terms and conditions).
  2. Personal bank statement from the last 3 months with a minimum balance of USD 2,000 or equivalent (must include the applicant’s name, statement period, and account balance).
  3. Recent color photograph (see terms and conditions).
  4. Letter of invitation from the individual or organization responsible for the event, explaining the details of the agenda or activity.
