Requirement for Study Permit:

 A. Requirements for New Study Permit Applications

International students must submit these documents through the host university:

  1. Application letter from the university addressed to the Director of Institutional Affairs, Directorate General of Higher Education, Research, and Technology.

  2. Personal data and study program information of the applicant.

  3. Letter of Acceptance (LoA) from the Indonesian university.

  4. Copy of academic diploma/transcript from the latest education level (must be legalized. Check the terms and conditons [here]).

  5. Passport copy with a minimum validity of 12 months (check the terms and conditions [here]).

  6. Statement letter (signed and stamped. Check the terms and conditions [here]) declaring that the applicant will:

    • Not work,

    • Not engage in political activities,

    • Obey Indonesian laws.

  7. Sponsor/guarantor statement (from the university or a legal individual/entity in Indonesia. Check the terms and conditions [here]).

  8. Proof of financial support (e.g., bank statement, scholarship letter).

  9. Medical certificate from a certified hospital or clinic. (check the terms and conditions [here]).

  10. Passport-size photo (color, with specified background—commonly red or white. Check the terms and conditions [here]).

     

B. Requirements for Study Permit Extension

In addition to the above documents, applicants must include:

  1. Most recent academic transcript (showing study progress. Check the terms and conditions [here]).

  2. Scan of KITAS (Limited Stay Permit. Check the terms and conditions [here]) and STM/SKLD (Police Registration Certificate. Check the terms and conditions [here]).

 

C. Application Procedure

  1. The international student submits all required documents to the university's Office of International Affairs (OIA).

  2. The university applies via the official Study Permit Application Portal: https://izinbelajar.kemdiktisaintek.go.id.

  3. The Sub-directorate of Institutional Cooperation reviews, verifies, and processes the documents.

  4. If approved, the Director signs the study permit digitally with a certified e-signature.

  5. The study permit is sent to the university, which forwards it to the student for visa (VITAS) and immigration processing.
